Authorized ItemAtlas employees may use any information collected from individual customers on a need to know basis only. We are committed to reviewing our systems and data to ensure the best possible service to our customers. Parliament has created specific offences for unauthorised actions against computer systems and data. We will investigate any such actions with a view to prosecuting and/or taking civil proceedings to recover damages against those responsible.
We are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and as such, any information concerning the customer and their respective customer records may be passed to third parties. However, customer records are regarded as confidential and therefore will not be divulged to any third party, other than sellers if legally required to do so to the appropriate authorities. Customers have the right to request sight of, and copies of any and all Customer Records we keep, on the proviso that we are given reasonable notice of such a request. Customers are requested to retain copies of any literature issued in relation to the provision of our services. Where appropriate, we shall issue customer’s with appropriate written information or copies of records as part of an agreed contract, for the benefit of both parties.
We will not sell, share, or rent your personal information to any third party or use your e-mail address for unsolicited mail. Any emails sent by ItemAtlas will only be in connection with the provision of agreed services and products.
What personal data we collect and why
There are many aspects of the site which can be viewed without providing personal information, however, to buy or sell an item and for access to future ItemAtlas customer support features, you are required to submit personally identifiable information. This may include but not limited to a unique username, password, or other sensitive information provided to us in the recovery of your lost password.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. How long we retain your data
