Product Details

Karam Boondi, also spelled as Kara Boondhi or Khara Boondi, is a savory snack popular in South India. It is made from chickpea flour (besan), which is seasoned with spices and deep-fried into small, crunchy balls.

To prepare Karam Boondi, a batter is made by mixing chickpea flour with water and spices such as salt, chili powder, turmeric, and sometimes asafoetida for flavor. The batter is then poured through a perforated ladle or slotted spoon into hot oil, forming tiny droplets or balls of boondi.

The boondi is deep-fried until it becomes golden brown and crispy. Once fried, it is drained of excess oil and allowed to cool. Kara Boondi is known for its crunchy texture and savory flavor with a hint of spiciness from the chili powder.

Kara Boondi is often enjoyed as a snack on its own, and it is also used as an ingredient in various chaat dishes and savory mixtures. It is commonly served during festivals, celebrations, and gatherings, and it is a favorite tea-time snack in South Indian households.
